{Easter Quilt} Golden Bunny Applique Quilt

I've been working on this Easter quilt for last 2 months,

It's finally finished!  Hooray!

Ta-da~!!  It's Golden Bunny Applique Quilt!

When do you feel like "Spring is here"?

I love when flowers are starting blooming, grass getting greener, and also when Lindt's Golden Bunnys are lined up at the Easter section at stores!

I love their cute round shape bunnies in classy goldren color wrap and they are so yummy!!
Ahh... I love Lindt's chocolate...

I wanted to make an another Easter quilt, and this one I wanted to enjoy all about pastel colors and bunnies, so here it is!

First I wanted to see how the applique will work, so I made this small wall quilt!

I thought it is pretty cute, I like it!

I found this golden stretchy vinyl-like fabric at local Walmart's remnant section.
Probably like $3 for a half yard.  Very economic!

Before I cut out it in to a bunny shape, I put light interfacing on the back of the golden fabric, so it won't stretch too much while I'm working on appulique.

I place the real Golden Bunny chocolate on the fabric, and traced around it on the freezing paper. (I can't find the picture, sorry!)  Using it as a template, I cut out the bunny shape from the golden fabric.

Snipped along the curb around the bunny 1/4" each or so.

I put Tacky Glue on the back of bunny, and place on the tops which it's already quilted.
Using rollers, paste it nice and flat...

Then start applique on the quilt.

Adding a ribbon around bunny's neck.

For the 9 panel-quilt, I used the same template I made at the beginning.  In th esame method, this time I made the quilt top. Panels with bunnies, then pieced them together with sashing.

I did stippling quilt around the bunny.

I used this cute daisy flower template from Silesian Quilt.

And I LOVE how these daisies turned out on the outer boarder!!

I usually use cloth pins to hand the quilt at backyard, but it was too heavy and the win?d were so strong, they didn't hold the quilt enough.

So I go this 2.50 clearanced rod at Walmart, lol
 Looks good, yeah?

Of course our daughter joins to the picture time!

She has been into princess dress!! She has been wearing this Rapunzel dress every. single. days...

 Holding chocolate bunny <3

We are doing some gardening this spring!  In planters!  Moving-friendly lol.

And of course, the golden bunny was eaten by these little people...
"We ate it!!"

Happy Easter to all!!

{Easter Quilt] He Is Risen

Hello all :)

It's freezing cold in Southwest Oklahoma here!

I can't wait the spring to come.  Stores started to sell Easter and gardening items, just the weather is not cooperating well!

Since trees and flowers are not blooming yet ( Seriously, all I see is brown grass and naked branches right now.), I wanted to make something nice that makes me feel good about this coming spring.

So I thought that starting off with an Easter quilt would be nice!

But I didn't want to go with regular Easter motifs.

I wanted to make something unique!

Growing up as a Christian, the Easter is not only egg hunts and Easter Bunny, but also it's a celebration of Jesus Christ's resurrection.

So I thought  "Hey, how about we go back to the origin of Easter?"

Therefore I designed this paper-piecing quilt pattern.

I can say that I am very happy how it came out!

It took extra time and caution to design Christ quilt block.

I wanted the pattern to be simple as possible, so the other quilters will enjoy making this block, but also I didn't want to Christ looks too "comically" or "cheesy".

Well I did my best. :) I think I balanced out well! ;D

I also want to quilt it in simple look.
I thought cloud look would be nice...

So I used our daughter's favorite Elsa glass too draw the cloud-look curve lines. :D

I used a walking foot to quilt, it was hard to follow the curbs with it...
..Can you see how I'm bad to follow the "right path"?

I'm glad the ink is water soluble!

I left the cloud out of Christ's face, instead of I quilted stitch n' ditch around his head part of shoulders.

This quilt is about Christ's resurrection, I needed to put "the print of the nail" on the design.

Guys, my heart was heavy when I was working on his nail marks.
I can't imagine how much pain he had to suffer for our sins.

But at the same time, I found how much grateful I am for what he done for us.

In our home, we have pictures of Christ, to remember him and remind who we are, everyday.
We go church every Sunday as a family to take sacrament, also teach, learn and serve each other.

I am grateful for living as a Christen.
I am so bless to know Jesus Christ's Gospel and the purpose in life on this earth.
I love finding eternal joy and happiness though his teaching.
I am grateful that we can overcome our weakness or challenges throw his atonement and blessing.

I really didn't meant to make this pattern and quilt to preach my belief or

but if it helps to bring you (or your family or friends who is going to receive your quilt!) to feel Christ and his love closer,  that will makes happy! <3

{FREE PATTERN} Acupuncture Pin Cushion

Hi all!!

This is Mitchie of Miso Quilty :)

Thank you for visiting my blog!

A couple of days ago, I was thinking to make a pin cushion.

A pin cushion, something cute and funny that makes people grin :)

I love to make people laugh!   We all need humors in our life, don't we? :)

And I wanted to make something with Far East taste, since I am Japanese and I love our Asian culture.

So, here is it!

Acupuncture Pin Cushion!
Ouch! or "Mmm~ feels so good."

I used EQ8 to design the top FPP block.

I picked some cute scraps from my stash bin, (fun part!)

and started making the first one.

Then I posted my finished pin cushion on Facebook quilting group.

I loved the reactions from other quilters!

"LOL so funny!!"

but the half of comments are like

"I thought it's a voodoo doll, stubbing someone from back, LOL!"

......Seriously, dear quilters!!? LOL!!

Some quilters were asking me for where they can find the pattern,

which makes me sooo HAPPY!

I was dancing in my head saying "Ohhh my goodness! They like my pattern"!

I was not thinking about publish the pattern for this one.

So I made another pin cushion last night, to measure everything and write it down.

Ta-da~!  Red version!
I think it turned out pretty!

It's funny that sometimes we get more positive reactions from audience when you weren't trying to get them!

Like, I spent so much time and effort on this new meal recipe for family, but my husband and our kids are like;

But when you make something without recipe, using whatever leftover things in the fridge, they say;

"WOW, this is really good!  Can you make this again?"

I love when this happens, it tells me that my creative instinct is still good! ;)

And of course, this pin cushion can be made from your leftover fabric!

Now I am pleased to announce;

Thank you so much for the quilters those gave me the positive AND hilarious feedback!

Hope everyone came to visit here will enjoy the pattern.

Love, xoxox

Choco Dipped Strawberry Quilt

Holiday Season is finally over,  what's next?

Valentine's Day = CHOCOLATES!!
バレンタインデー =チョコレート!!

I LOVE chocolates.  That's my weakness.

I could keep eating them all day long.

But I won't because my body thinks it's not so a good idea...

Thinking about Valentine's, I realized that we don't have any Valentine's theme quilt.

So I decided to make one with my favorite Valentine's Day treat.

Chocolate Dipped Strawberry!!

I used EQ8 to design the strawberry paper piecing blocks.

And made them in three different chocolates.

 White chocolate (my fave!)
ホワイトチョコレート (大好き)

 Dark chocolate (my fave, too!)
ダークチョコレート (これも大好き!)

...and Milk chocolate (yup, my fave. lol)
ミルクチョコレート (もちろん、大好き。笑)

I made 9 total blocks to make a small size quilt.

I picked this cute strawberry fabric for backing,  and B & W stripes for binding.

Basting on the dining table...  Dishes can wait! LOL

The quilt has been dubbed.
Now it became one of our family quilt, officially!! LOL

I added "creamy" line-like wave quilting on the chocolate.

And tiny-leaves quilting on the strawberry.
It looks like a bunch of tiny hears too ;)

 Back ground is simple stippling.

Backing is so cute!!

So the binding.  I thought the B & W would be a good accent on the quilt,
But because of watching Octonaunt on Netflix with our tiny people,
ここ最近、子供番組"オクトナント" (海中の生き物とアドベンチャーがテーマ)をちびっ子達とNetflixで毎日観てるせいか

I can't help myself seeing the B&W as sea snakes... !

Then I thought,

"Hey, maybe I could make a sea snake theme quilt!"

That's how my inspirations works ;)

It was very nice and warm outside today,
a perfect day to take photo of the quilt in our back yard,

so for the children to running around!
Our first thing to do after coming back from Church is
changing out clothes from church dress to regular comfy clothes!

Obviously, our daughter came out straight to outside.

Today he took an honor to hold the finished quilt!

She was more into eating a candy she got.  LOL

Here's the smile!

They reminds me that the most sweet and dearest thing ever
on the earth is FAMILY.

They are the best Valentine's Day gift for me!

(...Although I can still enjoy some yummy chocolates too!
Just making it clear, you know ;D )

If you are interested to make one, the pattern is available on my Etsy shop.

Hope you will enjoy it!

Lucky Piggy quilt pattern is here!

Happy New Year 2019!

I made this "Lucky Pig" quilt and pattern to start a good new year :)
今年初めてのキルトとパターン、”ラッキーピッグ” (幸運のブタ)です。

And we are getting snow today!!  Kids are just so excited!!

Pig and four-leaf clovers are my new favorite lucky charm.

Last a couple of years we were in Germany, and when it gets close to New Years,
they start showing up at every stores we go.

They call it "glücksschwein"= good luck pig, it's a sweet treat made by marzipan

The Pig with four-leaf clovers thigs are also on a lot of daily home décor items, they had mini figures, on mugs, and stickers... it's so cute!

I don't know why I didn't bring any of them back from there... I wish I did!

So I wanted to bring a little Germany at home, and here is it :)

And my FMQ is slightly getting better and better!
I quilted along the flowers on the ears, and did some floral and ribbon.

Hardest part for me as making 16 of clover blocks!
Echoing petals on the clovers クローバーの葉にエコーペタルをキルティング。

Overall I am pretty happy about the finished quilt!

And 2019 is Year of Pig, isn't it prefect?  ;)

The pattern is available at my new etsy shop!
(Yes I moved my shop from Crafty.)

Hope everyone is enjoying your new years!
(P.S. I can't wait our kids will go back to school!!!)
